MEDIA
In order to keep parents, students, and community members informed, our high school publication's program has a student media page. Being editor-in-chief, I'm one of the editors that is behind our daily posts. Our account has over 3200 thousand followers, and it's only continuing to grow. We post our content not only in Instagram , but also on Facebook and Twitter. Having social media accounts allows for us as a staff to connect with a wider and more diverse range of our student body. Every week, we post polls, Q&As, games, PSAs, etc. on our stories to reach a large percentage of our followers.
MEME MONDAY-On Meme Monday, we post a school related meme to brighten the student's start of the week.
THROWBACK THURSDAY-On Thursday, we make an interactive story post of a baby picture of one of our teachers. The students have to guess who the teacher is, and the winner receives a prize.

When we publish a story to our online site Tiger Times, we promote the article on Instagram. We attach the link in our bio and excerpt from the text so our student body can keep up with our content.

On game day, we post continuous quarter updates of the score with captions. While football season usually receives the most attention, we also make posts for tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.

In order to keep the student body and their families updated with upcoming events, we also consistently post graphics with PSAs. Since our platform can be used as an outlet for information, we gain a lot views and followers.
On Feb. 16, I'm honored to say that I'm one of the nine student journalists in the nation selected to talk with Pete Souza, who has acted as a presidential photographer for Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan. I got to ask him two questions of my choice to receive motivational feedback from his years of experience in the photojournalism field.

In November, National Geographic photographer Paul Nicken, who is known worldwide for his work, conversed with me through my photography social media account. Considering I want to one day end up with the same job title as him, this was an inspiring moment that reminded me to keep pushing forward.
Let's talk BUSINESS
Within the past year, my photography business has continuously grown. Considering we live in an age of digital media, I use this heavily to my advantage. My business "Photos by Peyton" is active and open for booking on Instagram, Facebook, this website, my email, or my personal contact. I've had customers ranging from friends wanting senior portraits, children's birthday party coverage, architectural photos, and more. Recently, I've invested in a new 24-70 lens for my work, and I've also obtained business cards. I have many exciting plans for the future of my business that have yet to come.
